You can also get to the suburb of Oxenford via the motorways if you have a tour of the Gold Coast theme parks on your itinerary. There’s Movie World, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Dreamworld, and the Great Australian Outback Spectacular. Sea World is on Main Beach, and it’s well worth visiting.
Take a drive to Currumbin and visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It has been voted one of the Gold Coast’s most popular tourist destinations, there are plenty koalas, crocodiles and native parakeets to see. The littlies will want to check-in with the Blinky Bill shows — there’s a show on every day. There are other shows on daily, the crocodile behaviour talk, sheep shearing exhibition and zip lining above the treetops and over the crocodile enclosures!
Further south to Coolangatta you can have a surf there, or try the other beaches nearby if conditions aren’t right for you such as Greenmount, Rainbow Bay or Duaranbah on the other side of Point Danger.
